Scope
Cut and fill. Building pads and lot levels. Trenches for drainage and services. Driveways into new lots. We do not build public roads. Road pavements are generally not concrete, and they are not this scope.
Kerb and channel. Footpaths. Crossovers from the kerb. Concrete driveways. Ground slabs and hardstand. Mesh in the pavement bay where the drawing calls for it.
Block and sandstone retaining walls. Steps built into the wall. Concrete paths and landings at the toe. Backfill and drainage behind the wall.
House, garage and shed slabs. Strip footings. Plastic under the slab, mesh on bar chairs, timber edge forms. Falls away from the building.
Pits and headwalls. Reinforced concrete pipes on a gravel bed, with a tied cage for the surround.
Post-and-rail and wire fencing, gates and rural yards, usually after the earthworks.
Method

Pads, trenches, footing lines and the base for a block wall. Subgrade trimmed before steel or pipes go in.

Block courses, steps and a concrete landing. Drainage and backfill behind the wall before the ground is finished.

Timber forms. Mesh on chairs. Tied cages for footings and pits. Plastic under house slabs.

Kerb and channel, footpaths and driveways that meet an existing road. We pour those. We do not construct the road.

Concrete trucks and a boom pump booked for the day. Screed, then broom or trowel. Joints where the slab needs them.

Pipes set in gravel. Cage tied for the pit or headwall. Concrete placed around them once the lines are right.
Earthworks are done with excavators and skid steers, including a Bobcat E35. Concrete trucks and boom pumps are booked for the pour.
